I am already an instructor with another diving organization!
If you are already an instructor with another recognized training agency, you can easily transfer your current instructor qualification to ITDA-IHMP. Simply submit a copy of your instructor qualification and attend a several-hour ITDA-IHMP orientation seminar with an ITDA-IHMP Instructor Trainer.
The seminar introduces you to ITDA-IHMP ethics, training programs, instructor and training materials, as well as certification processing and training manual ordering procedures. No in-water examination or assessment is required for this type of transfer.

What qualification do I need to become an ITDA-IHMP instructor?
ITDA-IHMP offers technical, sport and recreational diving. You can also become an ITDA-IHMP instructor if you have suitable diving experience or are interested in gaining it. Your diving qualification can be supplemented before starting the instructor training program.
As an experienced diver, you will need to learn the role of an instructor and the duty of care towards students. You will complete a 5- to 7-day ITDA-IHMP instructor training program, during which an Instructor Trainer or Course Director will prepare you with the skills and knowledge required for the instructor examination.
If you are unsure whether you are ready for the instructor examination, you can complete pre-instructor preparation. After completing it, you only need to finish the training without a separate instructor examination. If you have not completed pre-instructor preparation, the final step is the instructor examination, which you can take when you are ready.
